Lung cancer; late diagnosis

January 2008 welcome me with inquiries, concern and responsibilities. Thi was the first year I didnt have the chance to welcome the year with my parents due to a worthy sacrifice. I stayed at my grandparents home to watch over my sick grand father.
October 8, 2007 was the last birthday we celebrated for my late grand father for his 84th birthday. It was a nice, well prepared and extravagant party. WE come up with a surprise video greeting from far away relatives, a phone call from his favorite US based daughter and the paarty was colored theme, GREEN. Everyone is present and gay but we never knew it was the last one.
Come NOvember 2008 my lolo as we address grandfather the filipino way, started to felt weak. he sleeps more and eats less which was unusual cause he used to have a daily walking within our village every morning and afternoon and watched over his small convenience store all day. He used to eat little but it became worst that he wont even eat a single spoonful of meal.WE used different strategies to forced him to eat. WE bought anything that he and we think he would eat but all those efforts were nothing, he barely finish a piece of sliced bread.
One day we noticed that the symmety of his eyes changed a bit. His left eye became chinky. We consulted the doctor and we were referred to neurologist since he had a mild stroke wich was surprising were he was not hypertensive then. Almost every three days it has become a practice to check his Blood pressure after checking his wifes HYpertensive BP and lolo's usual BP was 100/70mmhg.After the consultation he was given grendis 10 mg daily for maintenance aas well as cholesterol level checked.
Laate November he became weaker, he complained of back ache and cough. Since his family doctor was out of the country we consulted another cardio-internal med doctor. He had ECG and showed good tracings. No medication given
Days passed we noticed a lump in his left lower aabdominal area. THe physician ordered an abdominal xray. THe doctor said it was an hernia attached to the muscle wall and was advised to wear binder and avoid lifting heavy loads. No other medications were given.ultrasound result also showed minimal kidney stones bt it was too littles that it may pose a problem.
DEcember came when we noticed his cough aged for almost twoo weeks and he became more weak. hHe is veery anorexic and can barely stand alone. we're afraid his P. TUberculosis has haunted again.we again consulted the doctor and asked for interpretation of his CHest X ray. Although his results showed scares lungs from ten yeas ago tretment, still the doctor and the family is doubtful if it is PTB since ten years ago he completed the medication and showed positive result and was clered from it. tTHe doctor ordered sputum afb and PPD. Two sets of AFB sputum results showed a negative. as well as the PPD but still the doctor didnt cleared him from the possible PTB.It was very painful to advise my relative especially the young ones t avoid close contact since we are afraid to get the PTB as well. WE were careful of his secretions that has conme cccontact wit my lolo and everybody was advised to wear mask. DEcember christmas pary he was the SAnta skin and bone version wearing mask on a wheelchair. Its painful to witness his deteriortaion with out any clear diagnosis. We dont know what to do.
JAnuary 1 2008 we noticed he had a black tarry stool with accompanying shortness of breath and was afraid his gastric ulcer may haunted again. he was admitted to a local hospital and was managed with 2 prbc transfused, given maalox, and was hooked to Oxygen at 2L per minnutes.his blacktarry stool didnt happen again since the last one and we refused colomoscopy. After four days we were discharge. Still the PTB scare is present and the doctor said he cant give anything since his too weak to handle the combined drug therapy.AT home we had set up oxygenenation and at same rate but he can tolerate without o2 when not asleep.
His difficulty in breathing persiste that after two days from the discharge we rushed him to Emergency. HE was admitted due to dyspnea and cbc results he has very high white blood cells count. Luckily our family doctor finally came and reffered us to a blood specialist. he was given medication. As the familydoctor reviewed our healt history was ouhe asked for the chast xray result reading of the past doctor and was doubtful aabout it and we were referredd to a pulmonologist for second opinion to read his Chest xray result. I was lucky to read the result to and as I saw metastasis i knew then it was big C but kept silent about it from my family... Mean while he was given nebulizations of salbutamol and compalined of severe back pain, chest pain aand O2 at 5l/min. He would ccomplain its too hot in the room when the aircon is in full blast and everyone is almost freezing.he would no longer eat and barely talks. he is vry very weak then. When the scond opinion reading was forwarded to the family doctor, she ordered a cat SCan. and it verified he has osteo metastasis, 4th and 6th rib fracture, liver, lymph nodes and pleuritic CANCER. thE DOCTOR SAID its stage 3 and with his condition 6 months will be too long.
Everybody torned.we decided to dischrge since there is no treatment available fr his condition only pallative one with his old age we barely accepted it was CANcer.
AT home it was more difficult to see him in pain, shouting and cying in pain, begging us to give him nebulizations or increase his oxygen.round the clock everbody is watching over him. NO massage can relieve him and he wont eat. He cant talk, swallow and barely move. HE only utter a word when he wanted to pee.his foodwas osteorized and was administrated per syringe. with high hopes we consulted an alternatve herbal medicine doctor and he even gave us a week aftr seeing his condition.
January 24,2008 he came to rest after her daughter went home two weeks ago to serve him, after his confesion to a priest and after everybody is painfully ready to let go of him.

Upang maging malakas, maligaya at kapakipakinabang

pedicure

Just gone to unknown parlor we passed by BEFORE GoIN HOME.. I never planned to splurge on pedicure but I did without any hesitation... compulsive I must say...and now I have to pay for the decision made unplanned.
I usually dont have my pedi to untrusted ones but its too late now. I felt there's something wrong from the start and now I'm sufferin. I found I got wounded by the procedure..huhuhu
Lesson learned; It takes a while to trust with evaluation made and it should be well observed at all times, taking risks is always a new challenge worth fighting for..................

pinoy big brother

Pinoy big brother is indeed a tv craze in the Philippines. It is undeniably one of the shows most filipinos watch out for every night. It has showcased the true Filipino living and indeed paved its way to global fab lane and to showcase Filipinos life and culture.
Last night it has ended meaningfully by the audience hailing E-jay as the teen big winner. The show was able to showcase the true essence of the show and has helped the viewers in choosing the worthy one.
I'm glad the viewers has chosen the best one. One who is deserving and humble. He is truly a man of good example to every young and every Filipino. An inspiration to all starving for survival.
